At Harvest Moon you'll find the whole family involved. It's never a dull moment around here but we take pride in building the kind of life we don't need a vacation from. We truly enjoy and learn from every aspect of farm life.
In 2017 we relocated from Northwest Indiana to Northeast Kansas. We tend to be a one-stop-shop so to speak. When we're not working cattle, tending to the goats or raising children you can find us building fences, clearing tree lines, making hay, studying nutrition, fabricating feeders and other equipment or making goats milk soap.
For biosecurity reasons we are not open to the public for farm tours, etc. We are open by appointment for hay, feed, livestock or soap/milk sales. Thank you.
Our entire Nigerian Dwarf herd is registered with the American Dairy Goat Association. We participate in DHI Milk Testing, Linear Appraisal and attend a few shows.
The American Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Association is not a registry but instead a place for breeders to share and promote our vision of the breed. Also a great place for our youth to earn awards and recognition.
We are working to get our current goats dual registered (ADGA & AGS) then moving forward all goats will be registered or sold with registration applications for both registries. We will be participating in DHIR testing with AGS as well in 2023.
Our cattle herd is predominantly Red Angus, many carry registrations with the Red Angus Association. Any commercial cattle are all sired by a registered bull as well.
Harvest Moon proudly supports any and all 4-H and FFA kids. They're the future and we look forward to helping guide them in any way we can. If you have a little one working on a project let us know if we can help!
